A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a spelling mistake. The negative aspect of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of spam, but this problem can be solved using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward incoming messages to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
In case you’ve got a shared hosting with our company and you would like to activate the catch-all feature for a particular e-mailbox that you have in the web hosting account, it’ll take literally only one single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have created under any domain registered in your account. You can choose one email address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature right away, so all email messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be received there. Clicking the button again will turn off the catch-all feature. If you have active email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning notice and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
