Dot NAME Domain Names

Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME universal extension is the sole TLD planned for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other labels people are known by. Initially, solely 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to secure john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already grabbed 3rd-level domain names remained operational.

Through our firm, you can purchase your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to update the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer code from the current registrar firm and we will renew it once the transfer has been finished. There are no special rules on who can reserve a .NAME domain, but in order to maintain the goal behind its establishment alive, the Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.

The dot NAME generic TLD is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no further cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the proper spelling in your native language.
